Honeycomb
Focus: Diabetes
I remember a classmate who had diabetes. In fact, that’s all I remember about her. She couldn’t eat what she wanted, she had to test her blood and inject herself. It’s that image of blood testing and injecting that stuck with me. And among many other things, Honeycomb would be a place for children with diabetes, be it as residents or for holiday breaks so that they are at least for a while not the kid that gets stared at in a kind of horrified fascination.
